In baseball you need to be able to hit the ball, work counts to draw walks, or consistently put the ball in play, so as to provide yourself with opportunities to reach first base.
Being fast is a valuable thing; “But You Can’t Steal First Base”.
There is a principle here that is worth considering.
We have to produce something of value, we have to work, we have to put the ball in play. We can’t just believe that we can make it without that.
You can’t steal first. ~~Unknown
