Jesus knows how to ask questions. He forces us to get clear. What is important?
Perhaps the question is rhetorical but it is worth an answer. So ask yourself. Do you think it makes much of a difference (in God’s world)?
Jesus knows, directly from God, what is important. It isn’t our fashion sense. It isn’t the kind of car we drive. It isn’t how well our house is decorated. It isn’t how well we eat.
Jesus challenges us to get our priorities in line with God and His government.
Does our heart burn with love for God?
Do we love everyone?
Do we have a heart for God?
Everything that isn’t focused on Him, what He wants and loving others is a waste of time and money. Period.
“All this time and money wasted on fashion—do you think it makes that much difference?” ~~Jesus (Matthew 6:27-29 The Message)
Thanks for citing my post. I enjoyed your thoughts as well!

I agree so very much brother. If people could only let go of themselves long enough to realize that everything is not about us but rather about God and His Will and be ok with that…we all would be much happier and better off. I am not saying it is easy but it IS possible. It took me a long time to come to terms with this fact but I Thank Jesus and His Father in Heaven for being patient with me, showing me and knowing that at times i may trip up here and there. Thankfully they have showed me and given me the tools to get back on their track each time though. God gladly will do it for everyone if we want it. Thank you once again for your writings.

A Short note: I just got off a 3 way call with an inmate at the county jail here. Through our visits he has been curious about this God thing i always talk about. He has been making huge strides in his relationship with Jesus and is actually taking steps to show others. He is seeing that his past ways of drugs and stealing and not having a focus on God and Jesus that he in fact has wasted a lot of time, and money and experiences that God wanted to share with him. It is a blessing for sure. I have a saying: Its never too late until we are dead. Focus on God, do what He says and things will go well for you. It takes practice, but it works. :-))! In all honesty, as i know you know…if we all had our priorities where they should be….we would ALL be living a lot differently and doing much different things on a daily basis. Material things would not even enter our minds the way they do today.

Hi! This is a very good point and one that the Lord has been putting on my heart, as well. We really do need to “seek His kingdom first” and then everything else will fall into place for us. If we really seek Jesus as Lord, we do come to know that He speaks the truth 🙂 Thank for this reminder to others that material things are not what is important. I shared your post on Facebook in a group to which I belong and also on Twitter. God bless you and may He continue to speak to your heart for His glory 🙂
