Terrorist

Terrorist

King David understood terrorism very well. He was in battle after battle for his life and his men. He defeated the terrorist Goliath. Goliath was perhaps the greatest terrorist of all time. David trusted God. That was all it took.

King David understood that the reason for all the mean plots was a failure to accept the Messiah as King and ruler of our lives. Freedom is not freedom from God. At the end of the day, we are going to serve someone. Will it be God? We can leave Jesus the Messiah but that doesn’t mean we are free. The real route to freedom is serving God. Jesus knows that the last will be first. Jesus challenges us to be a servant. Jesus knows it needs to out of love from our heart.

God wants to set us free. God is in a good mood.  We are a people of hope.

This world, and it’s political leaders, are confused. God laughs like a parent laughs at a 3 year old who thinks they are stronger than their father. Our leaders get confused about power. God is God. God is in control. We have a King. Our King is Jesus. Our God is omnipotent. We must choose confidence in God. Anything else is misplaced. I love the United States of America. It is a shining light in the world. I choose to be confident in God. God has installed a King.

God is great. God is all-powerful. God created the world with a command. We try to rebel against God. Because of our pride, we try to break free from our Master, the Messiah, Jesus. Any power we have comes through Jesus. We don’t need to fear the boasts of terrorists. God will settle the score. Goliath will fall.

God is clear. We are to “kiss the Son”. We are to surrender fully and completely. Jesus is King of our hearts, our thoughts and our actions. Jesus challenges us to submit to his leadership daily.

King David predicted (prophesied) the the Son of God, the Messiah, would come and that he will be in charge.

We are a people of hope. We will not be terrorized. Goliath will fall. Goliath will be killed.

Why the big noise, nations?
Why the mean plots, peoples?
Earth-leaders push for position,
Demagogues and delegates meet for summit talks,
The God-deniers, the Messiah-defiers:
“Let’s get free of God!
Cast loose from Messiah!”
Heaven-throned God breaks out laughing.
At first he’s amused at their presumption;
Then he gets good and angry.
Furiously, he shuts them up:
“Don’t you know there’s a King in Zion? A coronation banquet
Is spread for him on the holy summit.”

Jesus is King

Jesus is King

Let me tell you what God said next.
He said, “You’re my son,
And today is your birthday.
What do you want? Name it:
Nations as a present? continents as a prize?
You can command them all to dance for you,
Or throw them out with tomorrow’s trash.”

So, rebel-kings, use your heads;
Upstart-judges, learn your lesson:
Worship God in adoring embrace,
Celebrate in trembling awe. Kiss Messiah!
Your very lives are in danger, you know;
His anger is about to explode,
But if you make a run for God—you won’t regret it!
