Jesus knows that God’s word isn’t always received well. The seeds on the road are those who hear the Word of God, but no sooner do they hear it than the Devil snatches it from them so they won’t believe and be saved. It is hard to understand all of this. The Disciples struggled as well.
We don’t have to understand how or even why the Devil snatches up God’s Word but we know, from Jesus, it happens. We have to be careful. This message is for us not someone else. Jesus said this to His disciples. He said it to give us insight. We need to take care with God’s word.
We are challenged by Jesus to have good-hearts. He wants us to seize the Word. We need to hold on no matter what, sticking with it until there’s a harvest. That is how it is in God’s world (Kingdom).
As they went from town to town, a lot of people joined in and traveled along. He addressed them, using this story: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. Some of it fell on the road; it was tramped down and the birds ate it. Other seed fell in the gravel; it sprouted, but withered because it didn’t have good roots. Other seed fell in the weeds; the weeds grew with it and strangled it. Other seed fell in rich earth and produced a bumper crop. “Are you listening to this? Really listening?” (Luke 8:4-8 The Message)
No, we don't have to understand it or know why – that's the bottom line. Here is an interesting thing that Lance and I discovered a while back. Here we were at the library, looking through book after book, seeking 'knowledge'. As we were sitting there, Lance turned to me and said “Where are we”? I said the library. He asked me again, “Where are we”. I said the library. He looked and me and said “Here we are on the top floor of the tree of knowledge, look at the view.” WOW -blew me away!!! We just kind of looked at each other, laughed quietly and almost simultaneously said “and so the sin continues”. Here we were continuing the resulting behavior of the 'original sin'. We wanted more, more, more information. We were doing just as Adam and Eve had done when they ate of the apple. God's intention was not that we know everything – he says that many times in the Bible. His is intention that we do good and look to HIM. We (people) keeping looking, looking, looking for more, more, more. What we know – what we have been given (if we are in touch with Jehovah) is more than we can handle. I'm not saying we shouldn't read, learn, etc. But when it comes to Jehovah and Jesus, it is well laid out in the Bible what the expectation and end results are/will be. Just a little food for thought.

Wasn't that quite a day Hon? There we were engulfed in that “Tree of Knowledge”. Heck, it even has a great view of the water from the top floor! :-))! If we truly truly know Jesus and His Father, they are all we need when it comes to attaining knowledge. The Bible is an excellent source however especially for those who do not know Jesus and His Father and are babes in the knowledge of them. Be Blessed Michael! Excellent Post! Thank You Brother for being the Man of God that You are and for your “Jesus Sayings”.
