Sometimes we get so proud of ourselves for doing what anyone can do. Jesus challenges us not to see things that way. That isn’t the way it is in God’s world (Kingdom).

Jesus challenges us to love like He does. He was ridiculed, humiliated, killed and yet did it all for love.

Jesus empowers us to do it. He gives us the Holy Spirit and a completely new heart.

Here are the key ideas:

  1. God expects more of us than those who miss God’s goal for their lives.
  2. God’s goal is for us to love everyone we know and meet.
  3. We need to go beyond the pleasantries of “hello” and “how are you” interactions.

“If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.” ~~Jesus (Matthew 5 The Message)
