We are always looking for more. We want to be better. We want to develop.
The reality of who we are is that we are God’s precious children. Jesus challenges us to accept that and be content. When we do, we have everything we need.
There are things that can’t be bought. Who we are, i.e., children of God, is one of them. God’s goal for us is to be content with that which makes us more than happy. It makes us blessed. That is some very good news.
You’re more than happy (blessed) when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.” ~Jesus (Matthew 5:5 The Message)
There is such wisdom in the mere simplicity of things sometimes. I chuckle at the timing as well, because this is quietly tugging at my heart this morning… It is something I obviously needed to hear. What a wonderful reminder and way to begin the Lord's day ~ thank you and blessings!
