There is such a thing as tit for tat. Being mean gets you meanness in return. While Jesus teaches us to turn the other cheek, not everyone will do that. Meanness in our soul brings out meanness in others.
There is a better way. God’s goal for us is to be gracious. God is not mean but gracious and caring to us. When we are gracious to others, they will find it difficult to be mean.
May our words and actions reflect a gracious spirit!
A mean person gets paid back in meanness, a gracious person in grace.
Proverbs 14:14
Thanks for a reminder of this proverb. It is the one I was looking for that is applicable in the current subject of my posts.

Michael,
May I ask the source of the words you used for this proverb.
Your message fits well with a post I am writing, but I cannot find the same interpretation or version.
For example Biblehub.com lists all the different source of proverb wording. I could not find the one you are using.
Thanks
