Love is not all about the emotion of it and our feelings. It is not sentimental gush.

Over time, we learn to act out the commitment of love not the feeling of love. We have to learn what real love is all about. Jesus, the Messiah and our Master, shows what it is and how to do it.

Here are some questions to think about.

  • Is it about how much I love or how well I love?
  • Is Jesus proud of my love?
  • Is my love an example for my family and friends?
  • Does my love bring glory and praise to God?

I need to learn to love a lot and I need to love well.

So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus the Messiah attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.
