Apostle Paul Sayings, Baptism, God's Goal, Jesus, Master, Romans 6, Sin
I live in a new country now. I live in the country governed by God. Jesus is in charge of God’s country. God has forgiven me for missing his goals for me. Should I continue to live in God’s country like I did in the old country? Absolutely not. I am a citizen there.
The point of living in the world governed by Jesus is to be governed by my Master Jesus the Messiah. Jesus is in charge. I am not.
May I live a new life in a new land!
So what do we do? Keep on missing God’s goal (sin) so God can keep on forgiving? I should hope not! If we’ve left the country where missing God’s goal (sin) is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there? Or didn’t you realize we packed up and left there for good? That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of missing God’s goal (sin) behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace—a new life in a new land!
