Bless Others

Bless Others

Jesus gives us power. I have power to bless and I have power to curse.

I must be careful. I must choose to bless. That is God’s goal for me.

There is a reward in blessing. There are not so great consequences in cursing.

There is a subtlety to it all. I am annoyed with a family member. I say something very negative about them. It is clear I am not wishing them well. It is a curse on them. I must be careful.

Today God has a goal for me. My job is to bless everyone I come in contact with.

Jacob came close and kissed him and Isaac smelled the smell of his clothes. Finally, he blessed him,

Ahhh. The smell of my son
is like the smell of the open country
    blessed by God.
May God give you
    of Heaven’s dew
and Earth’s bounty of grain and wine.
May peoples serve you
    and nations honor you.
You will master your brothers,
and your mother’s sons will honor you.
Those who curse you will be cursed,
those who bless you will be blessed.
