Anger, God is God, Jesus, King David, Psalm, Psalm 19, Psalm 19:14, Wise Sayings
There are all types of ways I miss God’s goal for my life (sin). Some are just plain stupid. As my dad would say, “Not right bright”.
- The stupid ones are when I think I can take over from God.
- This may be subtle but it is stunningly dumb on my part.
- God is God. I can’t take over from him.
Jesus knows the way. Jesus challenges me to “let go and let God” be in control of my life. Jesus knows that God can do anything. There is a hidden treasure. That treasure is letting God be in control. That is the smart way in God’s world.
There’s more: God’s Word warns us of danger
and directs us to hidden treasure.
Otherwise how will we find our way?
Or know when we play the fool?
Clean the slate, God, so we can start the day fresh!
Keep me from stupid sins,
from thinking I can take over your work;
Then I can start this day sun-washed,
scrubbed clean of the grime of sin.
These are the words in my mouth;
these are what I chew on and pray.
Accept them when I place them
on the morning altar,
O God, my Altar-Rock,
