Jesus is clear. There is nothing ambiguous in his direction for my life.
My goal is to love, to seek good. That is how I should live my life. Of course, there is a choice involved here. If I don’t seek good then I am seeking evil. I can’t have two masters.
Jesus wants to be my best friend. It can happen. I must live a life of love. That is the path to friendship. I must work it out in my public life.
Seek good and not evil—
and live!
You talk about God, the God-of-the-Angel-Armies,
being your best friend.
Well, live like it,
and maybe it will happen.
Hate evil and love good,
then work it out in the public square.
Maybe God, the God-of-the-Angel-Armies,
will notice your remnant and be gracious.
