Jesus has a standard that is different than what religious leaders try to make us follow. His standard is one of love. Love of God and love everyone else. Every minute of every day.
That is a focus on getting my attitude right, getting what I say right and getting what I do right. Love is the summation of all the laws and “rules and regulations” of the religious world.
Love is God’s goal for me. Missing that goal is the essence of sin. If I love, I won’t get angry which, in Jesus’ world, is just as bad as murder.
I’m telling you that anyone who is so much as angry with a brother or sister is guilty of murder.” ~~Jesus (Matthew 5:21-22 The Message)
