Jesus had a few things to say after his resurrection and before he ascended to heaven. Jesus was angry that they hadn’t believed the others who had seen him alive. His message after he took them to task was:
- Where should they go? Go into the world. Jesus always emphasized that he was the savior of the whole world, not just the Jews.
- What should they say? Announce the good news to everyone. My focus should be on good news and what God is doing.
- What should they do? Baptize those who believe.
Still later, as the Eleven were eating supper, Jesus appeared and took them to task most severely for their stubborn unbelief, refusing to believe those who had seen him raised up. Then Jesus said, “Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God’s good news to one and all. Whoever believes and is baptized is saved; whoever refuses to believe is damned.”
