“What do you want?” This is an essential question from Jesus. Jesus asks. Jesus expects an answer.

Jesus wants to know, “What do I want?”. This is a great question from Jesus. It gets to what is in my heart. I must evaluate the “Why?” question.

The new disciples had an answer. It was a question. They wanted to hear more from Jesus. They wanted to hang out with him.

Jesus is willing to start there. If I hang out with him and listen to him, I will see. That is the promise of Jesus, the Messiah.

Jesus invites me on the journey. Jesus says “Come”. Now that is some good stuff.

Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?”

They said, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?”

“Come,” he replied, “and you will see.”
