Jesus is clear about why he came and what his mission is. God sent him for those of us who are lost.
I was clearly lost. Jesus came for me. There is a celebration for that. It was none of my doing. Jesus is the one who came and found me.
God is in a good mood. Jesus is looking for those of us who are lost. Our mission is to do the same. The angels want to celebrate. They want to throw a big party.
Where are the lost? Lets go find them. Now is the time. Today is the day. Get out the lamp and look everywhere. We can’t be satisfied until our mission is complete.
“Or imagine a woman who has ten coins and loses one. Won’t she light a lamp and scour the house, looking in every nook and cranny until she finds it? And when she finds it you can be sure she’ll call her friends and neighbors: ‘Celebrate with me! I found my lost coin!’ Count on it—that’s the kind of party God’s angels throw every time one lost soul turns to God.”
