I don’t know why I am thinking of Prince tonight but I sure miss him. I’m sitting here in tears.
Perhaps it it is because Prince played at the Super Bowl XLI press conference, and the Super Bowl XLI Halftime Show in Miami, Florida on February 4, 2007, on a large stage shaped like his symbol. The event was carried to 140 million television viewers, his biggest ever audience. In 2015, Billboard.com ranked the performance as the greatest Super Bowl performance ever. Prince is from Minneapolis, where the game will be played tomorrow.
This clip is from Prince, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne and others perform “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” at the 2004 Hall of Fame Inductions. It is a must watch. Also see the clip from the Super Bowl where he plays Purple Rain in a downstorm.
From one of my other blogs.
