Plutarch

I like to take comfort in my faith. Of course, I believe in God and Jesus. I have for a very long time.

But what do I think of others? Perhaps even some family members?

Consider the insight from Jesus. It is one thing to trust in God. It is another to trust in myself. Do I think, because “I am a good person” that I am righteous?

Big mistake!

It is a horrible thing to view others with contempt. And Jesus also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: (Luk 18:9 NASB)

“It were better to have no opinion of God at all than such a one as is unworthy of him; for the one is only belief – the other contempt.”
