Jesus asks me lots of questions. This one gets to the core of the issue.
Who is Jesus?
Jesus and his disciples headed out for the villages around Caesarea Philippi. As they walked, he asked, “Who do the people say I am?”
“Some say ‘John the Baptizer,’” they said. “Others say ‘Elijah.’ Still others say ‘one of the prophets.’”
He then asked, “And you—what are you saying about me? Who am I?”
Peter gave the answer: “You are the Messiah.” | Mark 8:27-29
Is Jesus the Messiah? Is Jesus the anointed King? Do I put Him in control, every day? Do I honor and obey Him as the supreme Commander?
Jesus doesn’t prompt me as the what the answer should be. I get to choose. Peter chose Messiah, the anointed King.
Perhaps I and many Americans are like the the seed planted among thorns. “this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.” (Matthew 13:22)
Did I start out receiving the word and crown Jesus as Master, Messiah and Saviour? Do the cares of the world, making money, taking kids to athletics and a thousand other things take over. Does the wealth I am making choke the word out? Am I unfruitful?
I must address this. I must not ignore it. God is God. Jesus is King.
Is Jesus in charge today?
Do I pray that God’s will be done in my life today?
I enjoyed the Piper clip too. Great message, as always.

Today we still find too many who do not want to see or to accept that Jesus is the sent one from God, the Messiah. This ais a shame certainly when so many call themselves ‘Christian’ but do not follow the teachings of Christ Jesus nor worship the same God as Jesus worshipped, them having taken themselves a three-headed god instead of the One and Only True God,the God of Israel, who is also the God of Abraham.
