Over the years I have been fortunate to develop some really good friends in my journey with Jesus. I thank God for every one of them. They are so important in my life.
The most precious ones I met when I was a college student and spent summers in North Carolina in a program called “Disciplined Life in the Messiah (Christ)”. I was there 3 summers and 50 or so different ones would come each time. I had the honor to be on staff. I’ve lost touch with many. We are scattered about in California, Florida, Boston, L. A., Europe. All over.
A few of us remain in contact and occasionally visit. It has been almost 2 years since I have seen them. I talked with one yesterday.
Even being apart though, people keep telling me about their lives of faith, and every time I hear of them, I thank Jesus. I miss them.
And God, whom I so love to worship with them and serve along side of them by spreading the good news of his Son—the Message!—knows that every time I think of them in my prayers, I ask him to clear the way again for me to see them. God is in a good mood. The timing is for Him to decide.
I wait and I wait. The longer this waiting goes on, the deeper the ache. I so want to be with them to deliver God’s gifts in person. What a pleasure it is to watch them grow stronger like I used to see when we were together! Their strength gives me strength.
I get so much out of seeing them! They have more to give me than I do to them.
I pray for them!
Great post, with a wonderful sentiment, in my opinion.
Regards and good
