Jesus IS

Scripture presents conclusive evidence that Jesus the Messiah was in fact resurrected from the dead to an incorruptible body. The Old Testament prophets predicted it. Jesus constantly reminded His disciples it would happen.

And it did! Jesus is alive. Jesus IS!

What does that mean to me? I have encountered Jesus. Jesus has defeated death and is my Master. Jesus is Way to God, the truth and the life I need.

Jesus IS.

The Messiah’s resurrection is recorded in Matthew 28:1-20; Mark 16:1-20; Luke 24:1-53; and John 20:1–21:25. The resurrected Messiah also appeared in the Book of Acts (Acts 1:1-11).

He went on to open their understanding of the Word of God, showing them how to read their Bibles this way. He said, “You can see now how it is written that the Messiah suffers, rises from the dead on the third day, and then a total life-change through the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed in his name to all nations—starting from here, from Jerusalem! You’re the first to hear and see it. You’re the witnesses. What comes next is very important: I am sending what my Father promised to you, so stay here in the city until he arrives, until you’re equipped with power from on high.” | Luke 24:46 (The Message Bible)

From these passages I can gain several “proofs” of Jesus’ resurrection. Consider the dramatic change in the disciples. They went from a group of men frightened and in hiding to strong, courageous witnesses sharing the gospel throughout the world.

What else could explain this dramatic change other than the risen Jesus appearing to them?
