Love Him

The religious elites of the Jewish faith were constantly trying to trap Jesus. One asked “Which is most important of all the commandments?”

Jesus answered that the Master your God is one; so love the Master God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.’ And here is the second: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’

There is no other commandment that ranks with these Jesus tells me.

The religion scholar said, “A wonderful answer, Teacher! So lucid and accurate—that God is one and there is no other. And loving him with all passion and intelligence and energy, and loving others as well as you love yourself. Why, that’s better than all offerings and sacrifices put together!”

When Jesus realized how insightful he was, he said, “You’re almost there, right on the border of God’s kingdom.” ~Jesus | Mark 12:32-34 (The Message Bible)

When I recognize that Jesus is the anointed One, the Messiah and King of God’s country, I am standing at gate of the Kingdom. I am challenged by Jesus to love. When I obey Jesus and passionately love God that leads me to love everyone else.

As ruler, Jesus is clear my mission is about love. That is it. Focus on that and obey the Master.
