In honor of a great man and prophet of God, let us all hold our dreams up for the world to see and our hearts to embrace. Here are a few of King’s pearls of wisdom to help remind you of the power of a vision from God. We start with the top 31 and then move on to over 200 others.
Did you know that one of Martin Luther King Jr.’s advisers had recommended that he leave out the “I have a dream” phrase for his speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in 1963? Luckily, King ignored that recommendation.
That speech and quotes from many others have inspired us and given us the courage to act upon our own dreams.
The main thing is Dr. King’s commitment to Jesus, our Master and Messiah. One King bowing down to the King!

Michael, Martin Luther King Jr. certainly did tremendous work in battling racism, segregation, and social injustice and deserves recognition for that, but he preached a social gospel, by which all people are allegedly children of God, rather than salvation by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. MLK’s own words, which can be found via the article at the bottom of the post below, are quite revealing.

Tom, thanks for the insight. I chose to celebrate the good he did in bringing an end to racism. I grew up in the deep south at the time he led the civil rights movement. Much good was accomplished for our country.
Have a super day. Blessings from King Jesus.

Thanks, Michael. I enthusiastically join you in applauding Martin Luther King Jr. for the leadership he provided in ending discrimination at the cost of his life. However, we must be cautious in drawing conclusions about his faith and religious teachings when his own words he contradicted Biblical orthodoxy. Thanks and have a wonderful day, also!
