It is not about me. Of course I get down. I start crying the blues. I’m throwing a big pity party for myself. I suck others in.
It is about God. I must fix my eyes on God. God is God and God is in a good mood. God puts a smile on my face. Now that is some very good news.
“Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God — soon I’ll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face. He’s my God.” ~King David
Psalm 43:5 (The Message Bible)
Jesus came to usher in a new agreement with God. It is based on good news (aka the Gospel). It is about Jesus paying the price for our missing God’s goal. Jesus died for us. Jesus rose from the dead and now is seated next to God as King of God’s country.
It is all good news and nothing but good news.
God puts a smile on my face.
