God’s mercy
When I exhibit the kindness of God, I am tender, benevolent, and useful to others. Every action, every word will have the flavor of grace in it.
To maintain this attitude toward those we love is hard enough. To express kindness toward those who are against us requires the work of God.
Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to radically change how you think (aka repentance)? | Romans 2:4
- I better change how I think.
- God is good and in a good mood.
- God is kind, gentle and patient with me.
That is why kindness is a fruit of the Spirit.
I must acknowledge God’s kindness in sending His Son Jesus to atone for my missing God’s goal for my life (aka sin).
- Psalm 106:7 — Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders; They did not remember Your abundant kindnesses, But rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea.
- I must remember God’s kindness.
- It is abundant. There is tons of it. It never runs out.
- 2 Chronicles 32:24–25 — In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill; and he prayed to the Master, and the Master spoke to him and gave him a sign. But Hezekiah gave no return for the benefit he received, because his heart was proud; therefore wrath came on him and on Judah and Jerusalem.
- Am I too proud to thank God for His kindness.
- I better look out. That is not a good thing.
Now this is all some VERY good news.
To Him be the glory, the power, the praise forever and ever! Amen
