It isn’t that atheists, agnostics and unbelievers don’t know God exists. They do. There is plenty of evidence that they ignore.

An atheist is a person who recognizes that God is God and he is not God, and whose pride finds this intolerable, generating a will to annihilate God. Since real revenge on God is impossible, he avails himself to an IMAGINARY REVENGE on God, which is defiant unbelief, or atheism/agnosticism.
Atheism, at its core, is defiance. That defiance blinds atheists. They could believe but they choose not to.
Atheists play a rhetorical game that is basically intellectually dishonest:
- Assert the burden of proof is on theists
- Demand proofs
- Reject proofs automatically
- Proclaim atheists have NO burden
- Declare victory by default
But again, it is not about proof. It is about God being God and in control. Defiance is insipid. It leads to death. Faith is a choice. Faith is logical. Faith is reasonable. Defiance is irrational.

Well said. Ever notice that when we refuse to agree with the atheists that it is because we won’t listen? Weird, they sure have a lot of arguments for a supposedly content free belief system.

Atheists are not without beliefs. Their beliefs are just not theistic. Perhaps you don’t know any atheists personally.

Actually I say that for the simple reason that atheists constantly claim atheism has no beliefs but is simply the lack of belief in any god or gods. That is the refrain always. Perhaps you don’t know any personally or are not a very good one yourself. Your statement is more proof that atheism is incoherent. Y’all just say stuff and hope nobody notices. Run tell your atheist buddies about your atheist beliefs and watch them turn on you like a pack of dogs. Because according to them, atheism is precisely to be without belief. I suggest you read the handbook or something

Sigh. I’ll type slow. Every atheist in the world screams like a banshee if a Christian says a peep about atheist beliefs. There are none they say, as it is merely lack of belief in any god or gods. Yet, here you are telling me about how atheists do have beliefs and that maybe I should get to know some. Actually, maybe you should lol. Comment stands. The fact that on one hand atheists say there is no atheist beliefs, yet on the other hand prowl the internet telling everybody what they believe actually does prove the incoherence of it. Not to mention the abject cowardice of it. Anytime push back comes the claim will suddenly default to
No belief no belief!!!

And your insistence that anyone who won’t agree with you is not listening reeks of presupposition bigger than the West Texas sky. Odd, since another atheist claim is that you are all free thinkers. Again, more evidence of incoherence.

Atheism is not to be without beliefs. Atheists believe in many – sometimes contradictory – things. What they don’t believe in, is YOUR definition and description of God – which, among ‘Good Christians’ – is as contradictory as the Atheists.
If your cat has kittens in the barn, you can call them horses, just don’t try to ride them. If believing this drivel makes you feel good about yourself and your beliefs – just don’t haul out the spurs and saddle. 😛

Well all I know is that the constant refrain is that atheism is content free and simply lack of belief in any God or gods. Which they do so they can escape feeling like they have to prove any beliefs.
So, are you and essiep not just merely professing lack of belief in any God, or are you both making the assertion that none exist? Accordingly to most atheists, this is a critical point

I cannot, and will not, answer for essiep. I would not presume to put words or opinions in someone else’s mouth. Also, I would not dare to make blanket assumptions and statements about diverse groups of people, as you do.
The problem appears to be ownership of definitions. The description and definition of “God”, by Christian groups, contradicts those of other Christian sects, and often contradicts itself. I cannot 100% guarantee that NO God exists, but I have never had a Christian present a definition that seems even vaguely possible, much less compelling.
It is distantly possible that there exists/existed a Super-being which brought everything into existence. If so, there is no need to define it as God. It needs no worship. It needs no blind obedience. It is not the “God” of insecure, egotistical humans who feel that It constructed an entire Universe for a bunch of insignificant microorganisms on the surface of one tiny little planet in the ass-end of galactic nowhere.
It is not the “God” of insecure, egotistical Christians (or Muslims – or Jews – or Shintoists, etc. etc.), who believe that this God loves only them. It is not the “God” who offers salvation, but requires man-made prayers, sacrifices, beliefs or actions. It is not the “God” of answered prayers. In fact, that one seems logically impossible.
It is not impossible that we continue as coherent patterns of energy, after our death, but if we do, it is not because of the definition of any “God” that I have ever encountered. 😯

Point one. I made no blanket assumptions of any one. It is atheists who repeatedly tell me that atheism is only lack of belief in gods. If that is an issue, then take it up with them.
Point two. Are you making the positive claim that God does not exist? If so, the burden of proof is on you. So, show it.
Point three. If you think your word salad there provides any evidence against the existence of God, then you understand nothing about clear argumentation or using evidence supported arguments. What you offered was nothing but personal thoughts and opinions. The fact that something doesn’t seem plausible or compelling to you is not evidence in support of your argument. It is clear evidence of your presupposition.

Number 3 is typical atheist evangelist side stepping. We aren’t talking about my evidence here. An assertion seems to have been made. That demands the one making it defend it. Telling me my evidence is poor is not evidence. It’s like a kid on the playground saying….oh yeah? Well you are uglier!

Presumably you can’t see the absurdity of spending time proving that something doesn’t exist. There is an infinity of things that don’t exist. All anybody can do is assess the validity of the god claim and dismiss it when the argument for the idea is too weak. Christians make huge claims for their deity and some become aggressive when others can’t accept them; that’s where you’ve stepped in.

Finally I don’t really care if you continue the conversation or not. Your only goal here is to make us shut up any way. Atheist evangelists like you prowl Christian blogs for just that reason, then shade it with claims of seeking honest discourse. I call hogwash on that. I fully claim my agenda, which is to speak the Gospel of Jesue Christ to anyone, even those who won’t listen.
At least claim your beliefs and stand on them. The fact that you don’t proves Michael’s point quite well. You are, as is said, sandbagging.

Saying that atheists don’t believe in God because of their pride is insensitive. I literally tried to kill myself several times while I went to church on a regular basis.
I did this because I thought I would never be good enough for God and I figured I might as well just get it over with.
Now, I don’t need a God to determine my self worth and even though I still do have up and downs I don’t need a God to determine whether or not I have the right to be loved.
I don’t always like to talk about it because I usually get scape goated. I only comment on these things because I don’t want this to happen to other people.
So if you want me to consider your ideas please realize that not all of are full of us disrespect and pride.

Why do atheists refuse to believe in God? Because I find the evidence for God to be insufficient to justify belief. If you cannot accept this answer, that’s fine.
If you, or anyone else, can present me with a reliable methodology that can establish that any god exists, I’m willing to listen. The fact that nobody has ever been able to provide such a method is a serious problem for believers.
You can also point to Romans 1:20 all you like, but I frankly why should I care what Paul (who is presumably the author of Romans) had to say about what I believe? If you want to have an intellectually honest conversation with an atheist, dropping the whole “you are without excuse” nonsense would be a good start.

Hi, Mike. Atheists don’t believe in god because they ignore evidence, but rather because they understand that evidence isn’t looking at something and then jumping to a conclusion. Evidence is information that actually confirms or denies a certain hypothesis. Of these bits of information, we have zero evidence for the existence of your god. So, no evidence, no belief. It’s really that simple.

This isn’t just about a God. Even if one did exist that doesn’t mean that God will fit your definition to the t.
People shouldn’t tell other people how to live their lives without evidence showing that it benefits people.
Also, again I don’t have a claim to fill. I don’t see enough evidence for a God.
A story doesn’t make something real.
And I’m not the only one denying a God, you are also denying that Allah, the Greek Gods and the god in Hinduism don’t exist. But all of them believe in their God or gods in the same way you believe in yours.

I do not claim for 100% certainty that a god doesn’t exist. I’m simply waiting for a evidence as to if there even is one.
And even if there is one that doesn’t automatically validate everything in the Bible.
God might be something completely different then what religion tells us.
Most atheists are atheists because they don’t see enough evidence for God. The google definition isn’t what most atheists are.

It’s because they love to sin, it has nothing to do with proofs or logic or whatever. They love to sin and they hate God.
They already rejected the knowledge of God, no amount of words or reasoning will change their blind faith. They adhere to their blind faith religion of atheism that God doesn’t exist outside of their knowledge (talk about pride, they never seem to grow out of the know-it-all teen phase), and the blind faith religion of evolution taught in the schools and that gives them a fairy tale for why we exist without a Creator to whom we’re held accountable. It’s all about going on and sinning daily. They’re all liars too. Evolutionism is not only scientifically impossible and contradicts all known science and history, but it’s mathematically impossible. They’ve been peddling known frauds in textbooks for years, and once they’re caught they quietly remove it. But why wouldn’t atheists lie to proselytize their faith? They claim morality is relative and who’s watching them anyway?
God promised he can be found, but the proud, lying, scoffing, atheist fools never will find him. Praise God.
