Israel – God’s people

God goes to the Jewish people first. He declares that the good news message be proclaimed to Jews first. Nothing has changed about that. The message goes out daily. Many Jewish people choose to deny that Jesus is the Messiah. That is sad.

God has a plan. It is for all people. It is for the world.

And so … our mission from Jesus is to “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations.”

That is what is happening!

  • Acts 13:46 —Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first; since you repudiate it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles.
  • Matthew 21:40–41 — “Therefore when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine-growers?” They said to Him, “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end, and will rent out the vineyard to other vine-growers who will pay him the proceeds at the proper seasons.
  • Acts 18:5–6  —But when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul began devoting himself completely to the word, solemnly testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah. But when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook out his garments and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”
