There is so much that goes into our life. But what I need to focus on is what kind of life is pleasing to God. There is a lot to distract me and I seem to be good at letting it happen some days. It is frustrating.

What works? Jesus is the one who invited me to get to know God and love Him. As I get to know Jesus, personally and intimately, the miracle of pleasing God opens up to me. I don’t know how. It isn’t something I do myself. It is clearly by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I get lots of invitations to do things. There is only one that is worth a hoot. It is the one from Jesus. It is the best ever. It is an invitation oozing with good news and love.

It comes with terrific promises. Stunning benefits in every way. I have been given a ticket to participate in the life of God. Now there is a cost. I must turn my back on a world that is corrupt with lust and greed. Turn away and walk away. That price is worth it for life.

I’ve been given a great gift. I must take it and build on what I have been given. I must complement my basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love.

Each dimension fitting into and developing the gifts. With these qualities active and growing in my life, no grass will grow under my feet, no day will pass without its reward as I mature in my experience of our Master Jesus.

Without these qualities I can’t see what’s right before me, oblivious that my old life of missing God’s goals has been wiped off the books.

I must act and confirm God’s invitation to me, his choice of me. I can’t put it off; I must do it now. I know if I do this, and I’ll have my life on a firm footing, the streets paved and the way wide open into the eternal kingdom of our Master and Savior, Jesus the Messiah.
