House Builder
Wisdom in an amazing character trait. I want more of it. I need more of it. God is in a good mood and will give me more.
My job is to take wisdom and build a beautiful house out of it all. Wisdom is not a series of “one offs”. Each bit of wisdom fits into the architecture of the whole. It is possible to optimize a part and sub-optimize the whole. Taking a single verse out of context of the paragraph, the chapter, the book and the whole counsel of God is dangerous.
Lady Wisdom builds a lovely home; Sir Fool comes along and tears it down brick by brick. | Proverbs 14:1 (The Message Bible)
Of course, the fool does the opposite of all of this. The fool takes the house and starts taking it apart brick by brick. The fool is intent on the destruction. Destruction is the mission of the fool.
Wisdom builds the house, foolishness tears it down.
I need to make sure that the brick I am adding makes sense the whole plan (architecture) that God has in mind for the house. The brick needs to fit in the right place.
That is my job. That is our job. Let’s get on with it!
