The past is an interesting diversion. And a diversion it is. It can lead to an unnatural reliance on a reality that no longer exists in God.
It can throw me off course. It can divert me from my God who is a TODAY God.
He is, not was. If all we think about is what he did in the past, we are not in the relationship with Him for the long haul.
What is He saying today? What is He doing today? God’s goal for us to listen to Him and obey Him. It is about the day.
So watch your step, friends. Make sure there’s no unnatural unbelief lying around that will trip you up and throw you off course, diverting you from the living God. For as long as it’s still God’s Today, keep each other on your toes so missing God’s goal doesn’t slow down your reflexes. If we can only keep our grip on the sure thing we started out with, we’re in this with the Messiah for the long haul. These words keep ringing in our ears: Today, please listen; don’t turn a deaf ear as in the bitter uprising. Hebrews 3:12-14
May I hear God today and act on His desires. May I be with Him for the long haul.

May we put our past in its proper place, something we learn from and not Lord over us from because Christ is Lord and source of meaning!
