Insight

How can I become wise? That is an essential question. I need to figure it out.

King Solomon was the wisest human being ever. He has some ideas. Let me start with him.

First, it was a gift from God. Solomon asked God for wisdom. God offered him anything. Wisdom was his choice.

I need to focus on learning. It is easy to pontificate and spout off. That isn’t learning that is telling others what I know. Being a learner is the key. I need to listen to Jesus. I need to learn from Jesus. A disciple is a learner. That is my job.

To be able to learn, I need to listen. God and His Son Jesus have a lot to say. I need to listen them.

Learning and listening will make me wise. That is God’s goal for me.

Wise men and women are always learning, always listening for fresh insights. ~King Solomon | Proverbs 18:15 (The Message Bible)

The Hebrew word here is בִּין bı̂yn, bene. It means to separate mentally, i.e. understand. To do that you attend to hearing, consider, be cunning, and diligently pursue knowledge. You will direct, discern, be eloquent, feel, inform, and instruct others. It means to  have intelligence, know, look well to, mark, perceive, and be prudent.
