Why this is important: Jesus doesn’t want us to play a game of hide and go seek. Now think about it.

God is light. His goal for us is to be light-bearers. He wants us to tell everyone that He is the Master.

God has Good News. God’s government is here, right now. Jesus is in charge. Jesus is King. Jesus is our Master. There is nothing to hide. Not at all.

Who would take a light and hide it? Yet, isn’t that what we do some days? The opportunity comes to bear witness to Jesus and we don’t say a word, not even “can I pray for you?” Nothing. Nada. Zilch

So …. let us shine His light and don’t hid a thing.

“You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. | Christian Standard Bible. (2020). (Mt 5:14–16). • It is not easy to be a dedicated follower of Jesus. Our society is not a friend to God nor to God’s people. Whether we like it or not, there is conflict between us and the world. Why? Because we are different from the world and we have different attitudes.
  • As we read the Jesus Manifesto (aka The Beatitudes), we find that they represent an outlook radically different from that of the world. The world praises pride, not humility. The world endorses missing God’s goal ( sin), especially if you “get away with it.”
  • The world is at war with God, while God is seeking to reconcile His enemies and make them His children. We must expect to be persecuted if we are living as God wants us to live. But we must be sure that our suffering is not due to our own foolishness or disobedience.
