God’s goal: God has given me a goal. I need to keep in step with Jesus. Jesus kept on track. Jesus does everything His Father wants Him to. Jesus is obedient.
We need to be obedient. That is how our relationship with God grows. Growth comes from discipline and obedience.
Make sure I’m fit inside and out so I never lose sight of your love, but keep in step with you, never missing a beat.
Psalm 26:2-3
What is the end game? Jesus is clear. It is all about love. I must keep that in my sight. It is easy to lose focus at any point in the day. I can wander off like a sheep.
Am I fit? God makes sure we are fit. Strength requires growth. We need to exercise to get fit. We need to exercise to stay fit.
God shows me the real deal about myself, inside and out. There is no mocking God and thinking I am something I am not. Jesus shows me. Self-examination is critical.
- But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 1 Corinthians 11:28 (NASB)
- Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus the Messiah is in you—unless indeed you fail the test? 2 Corinthians 13:5 (NASB)
- Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. Hebrews 3:12 (NASB)
Jesus keeps us moving ahead. Step by step! Minute by minute! Day by day!
Self-examination is critical to determining if we are fit in our spiritual relationship with God. May we see what we need to do in order to be fit in walking the walk!

TY this post moved me to pray for someone whom I just met for dinner who didn’t think he was saved and I’m encouraging with the Gospel to be trusted and beleived; always important to examine oneself!
