How often do I dwell in the past? Remember the time …. Ah, the good old days!! Nostalgia is interesting but not always helpful.

God is doing a new thing. He has a new plan. It is springing up like a fountain just turned on. God has a new plan for us. God wants us to focus on moving ahead. God wants us to see the new thing He is doing, not what he isn’t doing.

Where nothing existed in us, God is creating a new being in Jesus the Messiah. Where no love existed, God’s generosity creates life. Where no understanding was available, God’s wisdom pours forth.

May I forget the past. May I dwell in the way of Jesus today. Jesus teaches us to pray “Give us this day …”.

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.
