I love Thanksgiving. I think it may be my favorite holiday. It is nice that everybody stops to at least be a little bit thankful. It happens once a year, no matter what.
You don’t have to be “religious” to participate. Everybody can come together. Families can unite. It really is a good thing.
I’ve been thinking though about the challenge Jesus brings to me to participate in His world of Thanks-Living. Jesus lived the life of being thankful to his Father.
Consider this from the Apostle Paul:
Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to the Messiah Jesus to live.
Source: 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Jesus challenges us to shift from thanksgiving to Thanks-Living. It is about changing my mind, every day. God is always in a good mood. God’s love never ceases. There is a wonderful world of being cheerful, no matter what.
- Why can’t I live a life of Thanks?
- Why can’t I live be thankful no matter what happens?
Good news here. I can, through the power of the Holy Spirit Jesus provided me.
I want to live a life that oozes gratitude.
Thanks for sharing about the challenge Jesus brings to us in participating in His world of Thanks-Living. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and an everyday Thanks-Living!

My husband and I have favorite church we visit when we are in town to see our daughter and family. Periodically, we will listen to the on-line sermons. And wouldn’t you know, the Pastor did a series building up to today, Thanksgiving, on Thanks Living! We couldn’t hear the entire series, but here you have it in the nutshell!!! No pun intended as we enjoy cracking nuts on this holiday. LOVE it!!! 🙏✝️💜⚓️

Howdy, it seems to me that is the way of Jesus. I love thanksgiving. Living out every day is a challenge. I have started praying while I am still in bed in the morning. Just a few minutes of what I am thankful for. Mainly God’s mercy and love. I may have skipped a few but it is becoming a good habit and sets the tone for the day.
