I need to get this in my heart and soul. God has his plan together for me. Now that is some exceptionally good news.
The law of Yahweh [the Lord] is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of Yahweh [the Lord] is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of Yahweh [the Lord] are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of Yahweh [the Lord] is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of Yahweh [the Lord] is clean, enduring forever; the rules of Yahweh [the Lord] are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.

Here is the deal. God is God. God is in control. God sees the big picture from beginning to end. The totality of God’s plan for me pulls my whole life together. It is my job to let God play that out in my life. I struggle with this because I want to be in control. God will let me but that is not in my best interests.
God gives us sign posts to point us in the right direction. I want to know how to move forward. God is in a good mood and gives me sign posts pointing me in the right direction. Like Abraham, I may not know where I am going but God points the way.
God gives me a map to show me how to get from where I am today to where I need to go. In addition to the signposts, God gives me a map. The Word of God and the sayings of Jesus are more than enough.
- God’s plan is clear and straight forward. Jesus was able to nicely summarize the issues for me.
- “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
- That is clear and very straight forward.
- That is my to do list for today.
God has a sterling reputation with absolute guarantees. I can count on God. God has never failed me at all. Some days I do not see what God is doing and I do not get it. That is my problem that I must own.
When God decides, I can count on it being a good one. God is not haphazard in what he wants for me. God’s goal me is based on his infinite love. No one loves me like Jesus. No cares like the Holy Spirit. I have got the creator of the universe on my side. Now that is good news and a big deal.
