Kingdom of God
Why it matters: What is Jesus’ favorite thing to talk about? Knowing he would be present with the disciples for only a few more days, what did he decide to talk with them about? It is the way things work in God’s world (Kingdom) where God reigns.
The reign of God is the core of the message of the Good News. God’s world is real. God is in control. God wants us to be loyal and do what He wants. God has a plan to be implemented. His anointed one, Jesus the Messiah, is King. Jesus is to be obeyed. Jesus is the Master.
So, after His resurrection, he met with the disciples face to face. They had no doubt about the resurrection. They saw him and talked with him for 40 days.
He lives!! He has ushered in the reign of God. God has made Jesus his King. We must make him our King as well.
He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. [1]
Acts 1:3
Kings came and went. Kings died. Someone else became King. It could have been a son. It could have been a conqueror. But the fact is the King would one day lose power to rule.
The kingdom of God is a kingdom of paradox, where through the ugly defeat of a cross, a holy God is utterly glorified. Victory comes through defeat; healing through brokenness; finding self through losing self.

King Jesus — How long will Jesus be reign and be King?
Jesus is King of God’s country forever. Jesus rose from the dead in an incorruptible body. Jesus ascended to heaven. Jesus sits at the right hand of God as King and ruler.
His Kingship and the Kingdom will go on forever and ever. Trillions and trillions of years.
I should prepare to live an eternal life with Jesus as King. The more I learn to let Him be in charge, the
- Revelation 11:15 — Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Master and of His the Messiah; and He will reign forever and ever.”
- Isaiah 9:7 —There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Master of hosts will accomplish this.
- Luke 1:33 — “He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”
- Hebrews 1:8 — But of the Son He says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, And the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom.
- Psalm 45:6 —Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
The only significance of life consists in helping to establish the kingdom of God; and this can be done only by means of the acknowledgment and profession of the truth by each one of us.
