Why worry? God has a plan. God is working his plan. We can trust in Him. He is in an incredibly good mood. He will do what He says. He never abandons us at all. He is always looking out for our best interests. That is just the way He rolls.

Worrying is a nasty habit. Worry has some very evil brothers and sisters. Worry will derail us.

Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.

John 14:1 (NASB)

With worry, if it is not one thing it is another.  Worry is like a rocking chair; it gives you something to do but gets you nowhere.

Why worry? God has a plan. God’s plan is Jesus.

Worrying is a nasty habit ..you’ll notice if it ain’t one thing it’s another.

It is way too easy to let my heart to be troubled. Most days are a challenge. Some are not.

So, what are the facts here? I believe in God. I believe in Jesus. God and Jesus are in a good mood and want the best for me. That is the truth and authentic. I need to start there and stay there.

Since worrying should not be a part of a believer’s life, how does one overcome worry? We are instructed to “cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” God does not want us to carry around the weight of problems and burdens. God is telling us to give Him all our worries and concerns.

Why does God want to take on our problems? The Bible says it is because He cares for us.

  • God is in a good mood.
  • God is concerned about everything that happens to us.
  • No worry is too big or too small for His attention.
  • When we give God our problems, He promises to give us the peace which transcends all understanding.
  • Can I get a shout out about that?

For those who do not know Jesus, worry and anxiety will be part of life. But to those who have given their lives to Him, Jesus promised, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

I must focus on the goodness of God. When I was growing up, I never worried about whether I would get fed that day. I was confident that my dad and mom would take care of me. How much more does my heavenly Father care?

  • Matthew 6:26–32 — “Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? “And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? “And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. “But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! “Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ “For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.”
  • Matthew 8:25 —And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, “Save us, Master; we are perishing!”
  • Matthew 14:31 —Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
  • Matthew 16:8 —But Jesus, aware of this, said, “You men of little faith, why do you discuss among yourselves that you have no bread?
