There are times I have underestimated how important the Holy Spirit can be in our lives. God knows we need the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. I can be clueless.
Jesus uses a great analogy of our own roles as parents to help us understand. God is the perfect Father. God really, really wants us to have the Holy Spirit. God also wants us to ask.
- Does God measure out the Spirit cupful by cupful?
- Does God immerse us in the Spirit?
- Does God drench us with the Spirit?
- Does God fill us with the Spirit?
We do not have any clue how much of the Holy Spirit God will give us. It is without measure. It is overflowing. The Holy Spirit covers us and overwhelms us.
- Luke 11:13 (ESV) — 13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
- John 3:34 (ESV) — 34 For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.
God wants us to have the power of the Holy Spirit which is unlimited power that can’t even be measured. This day with Yahweh, might all believers accept and use this power!

Jesus said that his followers would do “greater things” than he, himself, did. That is mind boggling. Obviously He will fill us with the power of the Holy Ghost to he measure that we diligently seek it. Not just wish it! I wish for power but I do not pay the price.
