There is my way and there is God’s way. What happens when we live God’s way?

  • Imagine an orchard and the fruit that it produces.
  • That is what God does for us.
  • It is a gift because He loves us so much and is so exceptionally good.
  • His gifts are like fruit just showing up one day. Bam!!!

So, what are some of the gifts he gives us so freely? This is a stunning list of attributes that are ours through the immersion of our lives in the Holy Spirit.

  • A real affection for others. Nothing fake at all.
  • How about that amazing exuberance for living every day for Him?
  • Remember the serenity that comes from knowing that Jesus is so great?
  • How about that compassion we sensed one day when normally we would not even care?
  • And that conviction that we have never experienced before. A sense of being set apart for God and God’s purpose.

Now here is a gift worth receiving. Finding ourselves involved in loyal commitments we have never imagined before.

May we marshal our energy wisely by taking full advantage of His gifts.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. [1]

Today is a day to focus on doing things God’s way. Today is the day to let His Holy Spirit grow fruit of character in our lives. Today is a day to follow the Way of Jesus and love.

The role of the Holy Spirit: Sanctification is an important part of our lives as followers of Jesus. The Holy Spirit has a significant role in sanctification. It is through the Holy Spirit that we are set aside for service to God and our Master Jesus. It is through the Holy Spirit and our sanctification we produce the wonderful fruit of a “Jesus Way” life.

But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Master [Lord], because God chose you as the first fruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.
