Here is some great insight from Mike Winger. Frequently online, we will run into these memes. Mike Winger gives effective ways to refute them.

Atheist

mike is quite the interesting fellow. He makes up his religion just like every other Christian.
1st meme has the truth that Christianity is built on violence and threats. Just see any reference to hell.
2nd meme has the truth that Christians have no more evidence for their god than any other theist. All theists have no evidence for their gods, and there is no reason to worship imaginary nonsense.
3rd meme is also showing the truth that Christian “heaven” or for most people, “the city of heaven on earth” is a horrific idea, and it’s even more fun since christians can’t agree on what heaven and hell even are.
4th meme is also true since if one had evidence no one would need faith. This is why religion is built on faith since there is no evidence for any gods. And since christians don’t agree about the most basic things in their religion, they all have faith in their made up nonsense but insist that no one else’s nonsense can be true.
5th meme does point out the truth that if this bible were true, it wouldn’t be making claims about conversations that there were no witness too and that the characters involved told anyone about. We also have the silliness of jesus/god talking literally to himself. Again, this demonstrates that Christians don’t agree about the most basic things, including what Jesus/God is.
6th meme shows the truth that the bible contradicts itself, and Christians hate when their ignorant book is revealed for what it is, a rather hot mess of contradictions and cult nonsense. It literally does say hate your family, no matter how Christians wish to lie about that. this is a common things for cults to tell their members to keep them under control. It also says honor your father and mother no matter what, which is stupid if your parents are abusive. The bible also has little to do with love either, since this god is the antithesis of the definition of love in 1 Corinthians. This god only wants obedience, nothing else. Hell isn’t what someone who loves would invent.
“26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot* be my disciple.
Miseo –
Strong’s Number: 3404 Browse Lexicon

misevw from a primary misos (hatred)

Miseo 4:683,597

to hate, pursue with hatred, detest
to be hated, detested
The context is quite clear.
7th meme also reveals the truth about the nonsense of going to church and giving money to some god (aka pastors and members simply self-dealing).

Whereas Winger provides logical arguments and explanation, the best you have is flat denials. The mere fact that you disagree with someone isn’t meaningful. Yet, you think it is. Seriously?
Look at your longest denial. The sixth meme. You are quoting Luke 14:26 OUT OF CONTEXT. When we consider Luke 14:26 in context, it becomes obvious Jesus is engaging in hyperbole.
You don’t know what hyperbole is? You have never been so hungry you could eat a horse? You have never had a million things to do? You have never had a job to do that was taking forever. How about some minor discomfort that was killing you?
What are you proving? If your only “effective” argument against Christianity is to misrepresent it, what are you proving? Are you proving that something is amiss with Christianity and the Bible or with you?

and poor Tom can’t support his claims about me or about his bible. Unsurprisingly, I’ve not quoted Luke 14 out of context. But do show that I am, Tom. Surely you can, right?
Christians often claim that their bible is just full of exaggeration and hyperbole when it makes idiotic claims by very ignorantn people. There is nothing to show that ol’ JC was talking in hyperbole when he told people to hate their families. What he is saying is common in any cult.
“25 Now large crowds were traveling with him, and he turned and said to them, 26 “Whoever comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even life itself, cannot be my disciple. 27 Whoever does not carry the cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not first sit down and estimate the cost, to see whether he has enough to complete it? 29 Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it will begin to ridicule him, 30 saying, ‘This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.’ 31 Or what king, going out to wage war against another king, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to oppose the one who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 If he cannot, then while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks for the terms of peace. 33 So therefore, none of you can become my disciple if you do not give up all your possessions.”
Christians really hate when their magic man says give up all you have. Just like those laws that JC says to follow, this religion can be terribly inconvenient if you actually pay attention to what it requires. No surprise that christians can’t do what JC promised. You aren’t TrueChrisitans(tm) at all.
Funny how Tom lies and I don’t misrepresent his cult at all.

That scripture is about cost of loving and following God. When someone converts Christianity, they can lose everything. That includes their family.
To accept the loss of family, we must love Jesus much more so that by comparison it seems to our father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters that we hate them.
Look at yourself. Club. What if your husband became a Christian? Then consider a place like China or Iran where your family is punished if you choose to become a Christian. It is hyperbole to say that Christian convert must hate their family, but I think that if your husband became a Christian you would complain that at very least he did not love you. Thus, this hyperbole is both appropriate and predictive.

Quite a lie Tom since that scripture has that you have to give up all of those things, not that you lose them.
It’s always good when a Christian lies about what something says.
And nope, JC never says “by comparison”. He says you have to hate them. Christians dont’ like that so they lie and claim it’s “only by comparison”.
If my husband became a Christian? HE was one and I loved him, and then he agreed with me and he’s an atheist just like me. I love him just the same.
Hmm, you mean like how christians disown their non-christian family members? OH yes, I can consider that. And yet again, Tom has to try to lie about me again to invent his strawman atheist.
Again, more lies about “hyperbole” when you find your cult leader’s words inconvenient.

When a Christian turns against the faith, becomes an apostate, it just proves he never believed in the first place.
So, I think it is appropriate to pose my question again. What if your husband became a Christian. What if he devoted considerable time and resources living out Biblical teachings? What would you do? What if he put the love of God first in his life?

Your response is a typical one for a theist, Tom. Muslims say the same thing, and not one of you can show that I or any ex-theist “really” wasn’t one. You just have to lie about that since our ability to leave the cult terrifies you.
Any cult makes the same claism as the author of 1 John, Tom. Nothing new here.
I always like when a christian asks a question that I already gave the answer to, desperate for a different answer. Sorry, the same one applies.

Your method of argument is to attack and attack and attack. You don’t defend your views and you don’t actually consider any evidence anyone provides you. You just trample over it. Given the opportunity who knows what you would do to the Christians you attack?

Unsurprisingly, even when asked, Tom can’t support his claims that I have lied. It seems he has tried to lie and when asked for evidence, he cannot provide it.
Funny how I have defended my views and consider the claims of others. You are upset that I dare to disagree with you, Tom. Just because someone presents what they think is evidence doesn’t mean anyone has to agree with it.
I told you what I would do and you hoped that if you asked the same question, I would change my answer. Now you try to excuse your failure by blaming me.

If that isn’t projecting your own behavior onto others, what is? 🙄
Consider.

You are using an absurdly aggressive hard sell to peddle your beliefs. You are so convinced that you have the truth nothing I have said makes a difference. In fact, what I have said entitles you to call me names. That makes a dialogue with you counterproductive. In fact, as a practical matter I am not dialoguing with you, Since you aren’t listening anyway, I am just critiquing your behavior.

In an article in New Ideas in Psychology. “Researchers have found that there are three driving forces behind schadenfreude – aggression, rivalry, and justice.”
And she is proud of the Schadenfreude.
Consider this from her site: “I am smart, likely know something about just about anything and I don’t tolerate willful ignorance. I find sympathy easy to have but essentially worthless. I dislike most humans but have great hope for humanity.”
Ha, sympathy is worthless, she brags!
I pray she changes her mind about Jesus and starts the journey to redemption.

and Tom still is desperately trying to ignore what I’ve said since it doesn’t work with his strawman.
Alas, no “hardsell” either. Nothing you have said makes a difference since all you have said are false and baseless nonsense. You seem to assume that everyone must agree with you and never question you.
Reality doesn’t work that way, Tom. It never has.
Happily, I am listening, and showing that how you again fail with your claims.

Speaking of falling in love with your own claims. This is how you describe yourself on your site.
“I am smart, likely know something about just about anything and I don’t tolerate willful ignorance. I find sympathy easy to have but essentially worthless. I dislike most humans but have great hope for humanity.”
Hmm … I guess it would be a little too much to expect some humility.
And since Jesus commands us to follow the way of love, it is not surprising that you find sympathy is essential worthless.
Now would be a wonderful time to change your mind about Jesus and follow the way of love and not disliking humans.

False humility is rather pathetic. I have no need to be humble to make you feel better, Michael.
The usual demands by a Christian for “humility” are no more than their need for people to not show them they are wrong.
Funny how there is little about actual love in your religion, considering your jesus says to murder anyone who disagees with it. You also have the problem with your god repeatedly committing genocide, killing children for the actions of others, and telling slaves to never seek their freedom. So much for love being in your religion.
Why would I follow a genocidal lunatic like your god/jesus as depicted in your bible? So much for it “loving” humans. It only wants obedience.
