2 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians 10, 2 Corinthians 10:17-18, Apostle Paul Sayings, God is God, Good News, Jesus
This is subtle but significant.
- Who gets the credit?
- Who made it happen?
There is only one answer. God gets the credit. I should always claim it for God.
God made it happen. That is clear but I need to be clear. God is God. God is in control.
God did it!
Let the one who boasts, boast in the Master.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Master commends
ESV (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), 2 Corinthians 10:17–18
Jesus is extremely clear. There is only one thing that matters to God. Every second of every day is about what does God want Jesus to do. Jesus wants us to act the same way. Our role is to bring glory to God. Our obedience shows that.
The Bible has much to say about obedience. In fact, obedience is an essential part of the Christian faith. Jesus Himself was “obedient unto death, even death on a cross” (Philippians 2:8). For Christians, the act of taking up our cross and following the Messiah means obedience. The Bible says that we show our love for Jesus by obeying Him in all things: “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). A Christian who is not obeying Christ’s commands can rightly be asked, “Why do you call me, ‘Master, Master,’ and do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46).
- Galatians 1:3–4 (CSB) — 3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Master Jesus the Messiah, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father.
- Isaiah 53:10 (CSB) — 10 Yet Yahweh [the Lord] was pleased to crush him severely. When you make him a guilt offering, he will see his seed, he will prolong his days, and by his hand, Yahweh [the Lord] pleasure will be accomplished.
- Acts 2:23 (CSB) — 23 Though he was delivered up according to God’s determined plan and foreknowledge, you used lawless people to nail him to a cross and kill him.
God is God. When you bundle all the attributes of God in one unified whole, you have God. God is not just one or two things. God is unlike anything or anyone we could ever know or imagine. He is one of a kind, unique and without comparison. Even describing him with mere words truly falls short of capturing who he is – our words simply cannot do justice to describe our holy God.
God is infinite, never changes, has no needs, all powerful, all-knowing, always everywhere, full of perfect, unchanging wisdom, faithful, good, just, wrathful, merciful, gracious, loving, holy, glorious, infinitely beautiful and great and more. God is God.
Thanks be to Yahweh! Thank you for posting!

Good point: “Our role is to bring glory to God. Our obedience shows that.”
