God has a goal in mind for me.

  • Am I ready?
  • Have I prepared?
  • Will I be up to the task?

Jesus challenges me to get ready and to be up to the task. I am God’s plan A. There is no plan B.

The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.

We can rest assured of God’s promise: “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you” (James 4:8). As we pray, study Scripture, and look to live holy before the Master, He will reveal His plan for us in His perfect time and in a way we can understand.

  • Romans 1:13 — 13 I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that often I have planned to come to you (and have been prevented so far) so that I may obtain some fruit among you also, even as among the rest of the Gentiles.
  • Romans 15:24 — 24 whenever I go to Spain—for I hope to see you in passing, and to be helped on my way there by you, when I have first enjoyed your company for a while—
  • 2 Corinthians 1:15–17 — 15 In this confidence I intended at first to come to you, so that you might twice receive a blessing; 16 that is, to pass your way into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and by you to be helped on my journey to Judea. 17 Therefore, I was not vacillating when I intended to do this, was I? Or what I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, so that with me there will be yes, yes and no, no at the same time?
  • Proverbs 12:5 — 5 The thoughts of the righteous are just, But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.
  • 1 Chronicles 28:2 — 2 Then King David rose to his feet and said, “Listen to me, my brethren and my people; I had intended to build a permanent home for the ark of the covenant of Yahweh and for the footstool of our God. So, I had made preparations to build it.
  • Psalm 14:6 — 6 You would put to shame the counsel of the afflicted, But Yahweh is his refuge.
  • Proverbs 14:22 — 22 Will they not go astray who devise evil? But kindness and truth will be to those who devise good.
  • Isaiah 32:8 — 8 But the noble man devises noble plans; And by noble plans he stands.
