I get scared. I am upset. I get beside myself and lose it.
- It happens. It is not pleasant.
- I feel like I will not make it. What has happened to me?
- But wait. Hold on a minute.
God is on my side. God’s love takes hold of me. That is all I need. In times of trouble, Jesus shows up and cheers me up. He has been through it all and shows me the way to victory. The peace of Jesus overwhelms me.
Now that is some good news.
When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Yahweh [Lord], held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.

your steadfast love, O Yahweh [Lord], held me up. I must keep in mind the love of God. His love keeps me on the right track.
When the cares of my heart are many, My thoughts affect my heart. Think the wrong things about God lead to desperation and depression.
your consolations cheer my soul. It is God who cheers us up. The glory belongs to Him and Him alone. Thank God for new mercies every morning.
