Jesus challenges us to keep at it. The key to victory is to depend on God and keep at it.
- Do not give up.
- Do not quit.
God is God. Jesus will sustain us. Our job is to not give up. God’s job is to sustain us. God is faithful. God will do his part. Will I do mine?
In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: “We have a strong city; he sets up salvation as walls and bulwarks. Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in. You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in Yahweh [the Lord] forever, for Yahweh [the Lord] God is an everlasting rock. For he has humbled the inhabitants of the height, the lofty city. He lays it low, lays it low to the ground, casts it to the dust. The foot tramples it, the feet of the poor, the steps of the needy.

The Hebrew word for perfect peace is שָׁלוֹם shâlôm, shaw-lome’; safe, well, happy, friendly; also welfare, i.e. health, prosperity, peace.
Jesus challenges us to be God centered and to not have worry in our lives. This is clear in everything He has to say to us. Jesus encourages us to fear not and have courage.
God is in a good mood. God knows what we need. God will take care of us. That is for certain and we can count on it.
God’s goal: Our job is to focus on Jesus and what He wants us to do right now. Mainly it is to love God and everyone else we encounter. Living in the power of the Holy Spirit gives us the ability to trust God. The Spirit is the witness to the goodness of God. The Spirit gives us boldness and courage.
