Jesus is at the end of it all now. He has been arrested, jailed and “at trial” before the Judge.
- Jesus is brought before Pilate, who will judge his guilt or innocence. Pilate has Jesus very life in his hands. Pilate asks a very reasonable question. Pilate understands the accusation clearly. Is Jesus the King of the Jews?
- Jesus answers, very wisely. Jesus doesn’t affirm or directly deny what he is accused of. This set his accusers on fire.
- Having answered, Jesus becomes silent. Jesus is clear. Having answered, that is all he needs to do. In court, any attorney would object with “Asked and answered”. Pilate was very impressed.
