Welcome to Jesus Quotes and God Thoughts.
“Faith at Work: The Jesus Way” (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CDHGKPXM) is now available on Amazon. If you would check it out, I would consider it an honor. I used a style of writing known as “Smart Brevity”. The articles tend to be short and highly readable. I would very be interested in your feedback on this style of writing.
To get ready for the official launch later this month, it helps if there are reviews of the book on the Amazon site. If you could at least scan the book and leave a review it on Amazon, that will help. Also, please let me know if you see any fatal flaws or egregious errors. I can update the content before a more aggressive launch.
Thanks for your kind consideration.

We’ve probably all said “It’s Greek to me”. Language is important and translating words properly is important. Unfortunately some Greek word translations have lost meaning both to disciples of Jesus and those who don’t follow Him yet. Examples are “the Gospel”, sin, Christ, Lord, and more.
Here are some common Greek words, how they have historically been translated and my suggestions, based on the Greek. This is all supported by the major Greek lexicons.
- Christ — Χριστός Christos — Meaning: Anointed One; the Messiah, the Christ. Translation: The Messiah
- Glory — δόξα doxa — Meaning: glory, honor, renown; an especially divine quality, the unspoken manifestation of God, splendor, stunning, beauty, brilliance, amazing. Translation: stunning brilliance and beauty.
- Gospel — εὐαγγέλιον euaggelion — Meaning: the good news of the coming of the Messiah, sometimes the human transmitter (an apostle). Translation: Good News
- Lord — κύριος kuriŏs — Meaning: lord, master, owner; the Lord. Translation: Master
- Repent — μετανοέω mĕtanŏĕō — Meaning: I repent, change my thinking, change the inner man. Translation: change my thinking
- Servant — δοῦλος dŏulŏs — Meaning: someone who belongs to another; a slave, without any ownership rights of their own. Translation: slave
- Servant — διάκονος diakŏnŏs — Meaning: a waiter, servant; then of any one who performs any service. Translation: servant
- Sin — ἁμαρτάνω hamartanó — Meaning: I miss the mark, hence (a) I make a mistake, (b) I sin. Translation: miss God’s goal

You write excellent commentaries. I always benefit by reading even though I seldom comment. Continue on. Blessings on you and your ministry in 2019.

Hey Michael—I wanted to let you know that I keep trying to follow your blog.
I continue trying but I never seem successful—I’ve even tried on my phone today and kept getting an error message—so I’ve tried again on the computer and we will see how successful I am 🙂

I’m not sure why that is a problem. Let me know if it continues to be a problem. Blessings.

Thx so much for the Greek translations! In the past I’ve wondered about some of these.

Yes, indeed. He finished it. No place for AntiChrists to come along proclaiming to be later prophets on his level. They finish nothing.

I am trying to comment on Jan 20, 2023 post on all talk, but all I get is “page not found or doesn’t exist”. I am thinking, is it all talk and you don’t want to be here anymore? I don’t really believe that but now you are gone. Well, hmm, okay, can you unravel this?

Good morning Mary, Sorry about that. I inadvertently published two at the same time this morning. I rescheduled that one for another day. I am still here and the others should appear as normal.
Blessings for a stunning day in paradise.

Thank you. Nothing in my life is “normal”. Normal is a setting on a washing machine. It is finally snowing (not that I relish it but appreciate the beauty of His creation), my lights are flickering. My plans are changing as I write. Stunning is a good word!!
