Choose Joy

Jesus reminds me it is not about me. That comes as a shock because I love to live like it is.

In God’s world (Kingdom) it is all about God. It is all about what He wants and what He does. Jesus is clear. It is all about what our Father in heaven wants. May his will be done, we pray.

Need an agenda for today? Listen and act on what God wants. That will lead to a whole lot of rejoicing.

And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.[1]

~~Jesus (Luke 10:18-20)

What does this mean? It means that if we believe in Jesus and follow his teachings, we have a secure and eternal place in God’s kingdom.

  • We do not have to worry about anything in this world, because we know that our true home is in heaven.
  • We do not have to fear death, because we know that we will live forever with God and his angels.
  • We do not have to be ashamed of our sins, because we know that Jesus has forgiven us and cleansed us by his blood.

This is a reason to rejoice indeed! We have been given the greatest gift of all: salvation. We have been adopted into God’s family and he calls us his children. We have been written in the book of life and he knows us by name. We have been loved with an everlasting love and he will never leave us nor forsake us.

So let us rejoice and be glad in the Master. Let us praise him for his grace and mercy. Let us thank him for his promises and faithfulness. Let us celebrate his goodness and kindness. Let us rejoice that our names are written in heaven. Amen!
