I’ve loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. If you keep my commands, you’ll remain intimately at home in my love. That’s what I’ve done—kept my Father’s commands and made myself at home in his love.
Source: John 15:9-10
Jesus, the Messiah, is all about love. We all want to be at home. It was in love that God, the Father, sent his Son to the world to save us from missing God’s goal for our life (aka sin). It all starts with the love the Father shown to Jesus. Jesus has taken that love and given it to me. I know how to love because of Jesus. Ah, it is great to be home!
How do I keep myself in the love of Jesus? Jesus loves us the way the Father loves him. It is all about action. Jesus has given me certain commandments. My job is to focus on keeping the commands of Jesus.
Jesus has shown me the way to love. Of course, it isn’t how I would naturally do things. I have seen that my natural ability to love has been downright awkward and inconsistent. Jesus is filling me with a love that is from God. Now that is some good news.
Interesting, I don’t recall the quote “if you love me keep my commandments.”
I keep repeating King Solomon’s same message in the conclusion of Ecclesiastes.
Wisdom and Love,
We all need constant reminders to reinforce our day.
Just wish more people would read the reminders. Every day i read the news and wish it contained reminders rather than the sad effects of people who pay no heed to the decisions they make about wisdom and love in their lives
Thanks for the reminder. Might be a good subject for a future post?
Regards and goodwill blogging.
