Jesus has lots of questions for me. Jesus wants to know what I think and where I am on my journey.

My answers to Jesus’ questions show me (and Him) a lot. I must be open to the feedback Jesus gives me. God’s goal for me is to listen to Jesus.

So … what do I make of this story he told? The key is am I listening? Have I opened my ears to hear?

It starts with Jesus giving me insight. It has nothing to do with my intelligence or wit. It isn’t about my wisdom. It is all about what Jesus reveals to me. Starting there allows me to hear.

“Listen. What do you make of this? A farmer planted seed. As he scattered the seed, some of it fell on the road and birds ate it. Some fell in the gravel; it sprouted quickly but didn’t put down roots, so when the sun came up it withered just as quickly. Some fell in the weeds; as it came up, it was strangled among the weeds and nothing came of it. Some fell on good earth and came up with a flourish, producing a harvest exceeding his wildest dreams.”

“Are you listening to this? Really listening?”
